Chirton School Curriculum
At Chirton, the curriculum really is at the heart of all we do being fully inclusive and making a positive difference to all our learners. We follow a blocked curriculum approach, which means that children are immersed in topic learning for up to three weeks at a time, which we believe supports working memory and knowledge embedment. Our School Christian Values underpin a rich and diverse curriculum and are core to everything; they are used to plan and teach with examples of their impact being regularly visible.
Here in God's Love | We embrace learning with happy hearts and show compassion to each other. |
Embracing Equality | We respect all living things. We treat others as we would wish to be treated. |
All in Friendship | We encourage and support each other. Celebrating everyone's journey towards reaching for our best. |
Ready to Forgive | We aspire to be gentle peacemakers, following in Jesus' footsteps. |
Together in Trust | We confidently explore our wonderful world, and see our mistakes as steps towards new understanding. |
The intent of our carefully sequenced curriculum is for children to move on from Chirton:
- Having flourished and enjoyed their learning journey.
- Excited to apply knowledge & independence to the next phase of their lives.
- As confident citizens with a love and respect for themselves, others and the environment.
- Ready and prepared for the contemporary world.
- Talented, successful and well challenged.

11x11 Offer
Every child will be provided with 11 life experiences throughout their education with us at Chirton; these will be achieved by the time they leave Year 6. Every time an experience has been carried out, children receive a piece of a heart and then, when it is complete, take it home before moving to Secondary School. Children will leave the school feeling prepared and flourishing.
